In today’s competitive hiring landscape, a good candidate experience is more important than ever. With the unemployment rate at a historic low, employers are facing a challenge when it comes to not just attracting top talent but also keeping them engaged and committed throughout the entire hiring process.
At Criteria, we’re committed to helping you hire the best people for your team, and part of that mission involves cultivating a positive candidate experience that helps you attract and highlight top talent within your applicant pool.
In pursuit of this goal, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re unveiling a new game-based assessment, GAME, or the General Aptitude Mobile Evaluation. The GAME is a mobile-first, game-based assessment of cognitive aptitude. The assessment evaluates many of the critical factors that contribute to on-the-job performance: critical thinking, problem solving ability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and apply new information.
Through 3 short games that take just 5-6 minutes to complete in total, the GAME makes it easy to evaluate candidates up front in the hiring process by providing a quick and enjoyable candidate experience. For example, in one game called Robot Inspector, candidates are asked to find differences between two robots and decide if they are the same or different. This assessment measures attention to detail. In another game called Words of a Feather, candidates are asked whether a pair of words have the same or different meaning, testing verbal ability.
The best part is that applicants can play the GAME on any device, from mobile phones and tablets to laptops and desktop computers. And because the games are short and sweet, these assessments minimize candidate drop off, making it easier to test candidates earlier in the hiring process. GAME combines the best of both worlds – scientifically validated information about your candidates, packaged nicely within a candidate-friendly experience.
We’re especially enthusiastic about this release because we think game-based assessments have a ton of potential to reshape the way that employers assess candidates, as well as the way that candidates experience the entire hiring process. We’re only just seeing the beginnings of what game-based assessments could become, and we’re excited to be a part of it!
