Howard Wainer

Dr. Howard Wainer is the Distinguished Research Scientist at the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr Wainer's research has established his international reputation in the fields of statistics, educational measurement, and the use of graphical methods. He is also a leading authority on computer-based testing (CBT) and has published more than 400 papers and 20 books, including Computerized Adaptive Testing: A Primer (2000), Uneducated Guesses Using Evidence to Uncover Misguided Education Policies (2011), A Statistical Guide for the Ethically Perplexed (2012) and Medical Illuminations: Using Evidence, Visualization & Statistical thinking to Improve Healthcare (2014).
